Hello guys, I hope you all are fine with the situation which is currently going on in the world. Anyways, as I always say, please stay at home and be safe from this Corona Virus.
Anyways, let’s get into the topic. Actually, I had to write this when I figured out a solution to this issue. The issue was importing and exporting emails from a server to another server. In other words, from a CPanel to another CPanel. However, it’s easy but not easy. Because there is a method called CPanel Mail backup. It’s not much easy unless you have an idea about file compression stuff. (If you need to follow the article, Click Here.)
Anyways, the method which I used to solve my problem was the mail client. There are two main Mail clients on the CPanel. Horde and Roundcube are them. However, I couldn’t find Export and Import buttons from Roundcube. But horde had them hidden. However, let’s see where we can see them.
(This method can be used as a Backup method to store all the emails and delete them from the server. You can decide on the scenario you need to use. Remember, It’s good if you can create a new email with the same username and the password on the NEW server before you start the following method.)
So you can see those buttons in the above image. However, if you click on the Export button, you will see a dialog box to export all the emails as an MBOX file. You can use the Zipped version also. But both are the same. Just select the first option and download the files.
Then you can upload that file to the Hode Client of your NEW server which you needed to transfer all the emails. After all, you will get your output in no time. However, you will have to wait until the file upload. However, in Sri Lanka, I got about 6 Minutes to upload an 18MB file. So, have a cup of tea or a coffee until the upload happens.
So, I think you could get a clear idea about the way of transferring email from a server and how to do an email backup completely easily. Just keep in touch with KDJ Guru Blog. We will upload more quality content in the future also. Have a nice day!
