Hello guys, welcome you to KDJ Guru blog. This article will help you to find out how you can uninstall or remove the apache from Ubuntu OS. I experience this when I was using a Ubuntu Intalled VPS with apache support. Just needed to remove apache2 because I needed to install Vesta CP admin panel from scratch. Anyways, I write this article while it’s installing.

However, Let’s see it breifly. Just let us know, if you got anything wrong.

First stop the apache2 service if it is running.

sudo service apache2 stop

Now remove and cleanup all the apache2 packages.

sudo apt-get purge apache2 apache2-utils apache2.2-bin apache2-common
//or
sudo apt-get purge apache2 apache2-utils apache2-bin apache2.2-common

Finally, run the following command just in case any other cleanup in needed

sudo apt-get autoremove

Anyways, you can do the following two tests to confirm apache has been removed.

After running the following command, you should return a blank line.

which apache2

After running the following command, you should return apache2: unrecognized service

sudo service apache2 start
